Daily breathing practice for myofunctional therapy patients

You already teach nasal breathing, lip seal and tongue posture. Remindful gives your patients something to open every day between appointments. Free for your patients for twelve months.

Where breathing shows up in your practice

  • Home program adherence, which is the thing that decides whether your work holds.
  • Nasal breathing and lip seal habits that need daily repetition, not fortnightly reminders.
  • Patients who understand the exercises in the room and lose the thread by Wednesday.
  • Adults and older kids who want structure and a sense of progress rather than a printed sheet.

What Remindful actually is

A daily breathing app. About five minutes a day.

Guided audio sessions, a breathing baseline measure so patients can see a starting point, and progress tracking that makes consistency visible.

We are not trying to do your job. Remindful is a habit and practice tool that sits underneath the therapy you are already delivering.

What the evidence says

We would rather be straight with you than oversell this.

What the research shows

  • Breathing practice has a real and growing evidence base.
  • A 2023 meta-analysis pooled 12 randomised controlled trials and 785 adults and found breathwork significantly reduced self-reported stress. Anxiety across 20 trials and depressive symptoms across 18 trials moved the same way.
  • A Stanford randomised controlled trial tested five minutes a day for a month. Breathwork beat mindfulness meditation on mood and lowered resting respiratory rate.
  • On the airway side, a Cochrane review found myofunctional therapy probably reduces daytime sleepiness and may improve sleep quality in obstructive sleep apnoea.

What the field is still figuring out

  • This is a young, fast-moving field with serious research money starting to flow into it.
  • The open questions are how long the effects hold, what changes with sustained practice, and how consumer apps compare with specific facilitated programs.

You do not need us to explain the evidence for your own profession. The practical question is whether Remindful can make daily repetition easier alongside your assessment, exercises and clinical progression.
