A breathing app for dentists and airway practices
A daily breathing app you can hand to a patient chairside. Free for your patients for twelve months, no cost to the practice, no commission.
Where breathing shows up in your practice
- Mouth breathing patients, where you are already having the nasal breathing conversation but have nowhere to send them for daily practice.
- Airway-focused and sleep dentistry work, where breathing habits sit alongside appliance therapy rather than competing with it.
- Patients who arrive having read about nasal breathing or mouth taping online and want to know what is actually worth doing.
- Paediatric airway cases where a parent asks "so what do we do at home".
What Remindful actually is
A daily breathing app. About five minutes a day.
Guided audio sessions, a simple breathing baseline measure, and progress tracking. It is built around daily repetition, which is exactly the part patients drop when they leave your chair.

What the evidence says
We would rather be straight with you than oversell this.
What the research shows
- Breathing practice has a real and growing evidence base.
- A 2023 meta-analysis pooled 12 randomised controlled trials and 785 adults and found breathwork significantly reduced self-reported stress. Anxiety across 20 trials and depressive symptoms across 18 trials moved the same way.
- A Stanford randomised controlled trial tested five minutes a day for a month. Breathwork beat mindfulness meditation on mood and lowered resting respiratory rate.
- On the airway side, a Cochrane review found myofunctional therapy probably reduces daytime sleepiness and may improve sleep quality in obstructive sleep apnoea.
What the field is still figuring out
- This is a young, fast-moving field with serious research money starting to flow into it.
- The open questions are how long the effects hold, what changes with sustained practice, and how consumer apps compare with specific facilitated programs.
What is already established is enough to make daily breathing practice a sensible, low-cost complement to the airway conversation. We make no claim that Remindful treats sleep apnoea or any other condition.
